The journey of a business owner is one filled with ups and downs. One day, things can go great while the next becomes one you'd rather forget. I've learned that no amount of preparation can adequately get me ready for most of the experiences I will have. Most times, I just have to say a prayer, take a deep breath, and 'wing' it.
But doing that can lead to feelings of inadequacy and insecurity. When those moments try to rise to the surface, I quickly run to scripture. One verse I find particularly helpful is 2 Samuel 22:33 - It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure.
Knowing this fact helps me navigate the many curveballs life often brings in business. Imagine having your day scheduled only for some random thing to happen and I'm forced to scrap all my plans to handle the main issue confronting me that day!
Yet, God's word provides me with confidence that He will strengthen me to deal with whatever comes my way. Just as He was the forth man in the fire for Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, He will be right by my side as I go through the ups and downs of getting work done. And, He definitely won't abandon me on those days when things seem to be going wrong.
Leaning on God's strength gives me the confidence to go on. Hebrews 13:6 - So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?”
I pray that you will remember to draw strength from the Lord and lean into Him for confidence no matter what your day brings.
Remember Psalm 16:8 - I keep my eyes always on the LORD. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
God bless you.
