I've been studying the Book of Proverbs and what keeps jumping out at me is the issue of diligence.
When I think of diligence, I think of discipline and the ability to consistently work hard at something, giving it one's best. Diligence makes me think of Colossians 3:23 where Paul taught that Christians were to do everything as if they were doing it for the Lord. As such, diligence suggests high-quality production by giving one's best to the tasks at hand.
Then there's Proverbs 22:29 which states, Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men (KJV).
The scripture highlights that diligence in a person will exalt them into the presence of kings and the leaders of this world. Demand for their expertise will not only come from ordinary people but from the most important individuals in the world.
I sometimes pray for God to send me clients. Who am I kidding, I always pray for God to send me business. I also pray for customers who are willing to pay for my services. I realize now, by God's grace, that I need to pray that the kings and queens of this world demand my services. That those who can afford my services and understand their true value will seek me out.
According to the Word, that will happen when I am diligent in my business, putting the skills and learnings I have received to work effectively and efficiently. I understand that I need God's help and as a result, I pray for grace to be diligent and disciplined in all areas of my life. For then, the Lord will send me the very types of clients I'm praying for - kings and queens.
If you feel the same way then why don't you join me in prayer -
Dear Lord, thank You for Your word which states that diligent hands will rule. Father, I pray for diligent hands that I may be successful in business and in life in general. Lord, I pray for grace to be diligent and disciplined, for you have given me a spirit of self discipline. I also pray that with Your help, I will put that blessing to work and You will bring me and my business before kings and queens, IJMN Amen.
