It's very easy for us to limit God to certain parts of our life. We might trust Him regarding health while not trusting Him regarding certain relationships. Or we might trust Him to keep us safe each time we get behind the wheel but not trust Him regarding our finances.
In practical terms, a person may believe that God will heal them while not believing enough to relinquish their problems in a relationship to Him. Or, they may be confident that God will keep them safe while they drive yet lack that same level of confidence in the Lord to solve their financial difficulties.
Do you tend to compartmentalize what God can do for you? Do you let Him into some areas of your life and not others? Are your business affairs open to God's influence and control? If so, what does that mean to you? Does that mean you pray for guidance or are you the type to make decisions then pray that the Lord sanctions them?
The latter is not the way to go. Instead, we must pray early and regularly for the Lord to guide our steps and lead us in the direction that will glorify Him. Sometimes that will require taking steps that don't make sense to others but doing so is in obedience to the Lord's leading.
Do you think you can trust God completely regarding your business affairs? Can you fully submit your choices to His directions? Even when to do so will seem nonsensical?
Today, you need to think deeply about this question. No matter how far you've gone in your enterprise, it's not too late to start making God the actual CEO of your business. After all, Abraham left everything he knew on God's instruction and became so prosperous that everyone around him couldn't believe it. His wealth didn't stop with him, even his nephew Lot enjoyed the blessing as did His children. Also, consider Joseph of Arimathea. He was a follower of Jesus who had enough money and connections to the Roman rulers to get the Savior’s body buried. His commitment to Jesus didn't result in poverty for Him.
God's promise to those who let Him lead is blessings and goodness. Choose to follow in all areas of your life, and that includes your business.
If you would like to make that choice to let God lead in your business then let us pray...
Heavenly Father, I come before You today knowing that I have fallen short of Your glory. As a sinner I confess and seek Your merciful forgiveness. I have opted to rely upon myself and the wisdom of man instead of relying upon You. Today, I commit to letting You lead me and I ask You to become the CEO of my business. Guide every aspect of it and be Thou glorified, IJMN, Amen.
Praise God!! If you have said this prayer genuinely, I want to encourage you to create a little more quiet time in your life for the Lord. Give Him time by reading His word, worshipping Him, fasting, and setting aside time to hear from Him so you know His mind and move accordingly. God bless you!
