Dear entrepreneur:
Would you like riches, honor, and power? Do you want prosperity and wealth to come forth through your business?
All of this is possible. You simply have to seek out wisdom. Now beware! The type of wisdom you need cannot come from the world. Sure, experts and researchers have ideas that could help but their knowledge does not compare to the wisdom you truly need. Alas, a lot of the wisdom you can glean from these specialists would be considered "foolishness in God’s sight" (1 Corinthians 3:19). Such worldly wisdom is deemed "earthly, unspiritual, demonic" in James 3:15. It thus will not produce the staying power that most Christian entrepreneurs are looking for.
The wisdom of God, however, is "pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere" according to James 3:17. It is such insight that every business person needs to create and run a company that becomes a success that outlives you.
The Book of Proverbs describes God's wisdom as a 'she' so, let's call her Madam Wisdom. She is considered a treasure more valuable than gold, silver, or precious gemstones (Proverbs 8:10-11). She is a source of life for those who grab hold of her (Proverbs 8:35).
You can't grab a hold of her if you don't seek her out. Fortunately, Madam Wisdom states that all who search will find her (Proverbs 8:17). Madam Wisdom requires all who seek her to walk in the fear of the Lord and hate evil (Proverbs 8:13). She also teaches that you must choose to apply the wisdom given (Proverbs 8:10-11). This makes sense because knowledge is meant to be used, right? Why attain such pertinent information and then not put it to work in a practical manner? That would be foolish.
All of this leads to a question - how can a Christian business remain competitive when others are willing to take shortcuts? Non-believers aren't concerned with God's laws or the instructions of Madam Wisdom. Yet they appear to be making significant profits. Profits that will likely be scarce if you focus on the principles taught by Madam Wisdom.
The benefits of doing what wisdom says are well worth it, nevertheless. Power, insight, riches, honor, wealth, prosperity, great blessings, life, and more are promised to those who seek her and apply her instructions.
Doing things God's way will never be easy, particularly when you see everyone else applying the ways of the world to apparent success. However, keep in mind that success from God will outlive and outmatch whatever the world considers to be the pinnacle of success. There is no single promise in the Bible that won't be fulfilled in the life of the person who satisfies the necessary conditions. 2 Timothy 2:13 - if we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot disown himself. God will never allow His word to not be fulfilled (Isaiah 55:11). The promises of Madam Wisdom are no different. Do what she says and you will see the rewards.
