So much about running a business can be terrifying but as believers we have been called to reject the spirit of fear (2 Timothy 1:7). We are to trust the Lord to see us through the tough times and bring us to a place of triumph.
In fact, we are to remember the words of Prophet Micah in Micah 3:8 - But as for me, I am filled with power, with the Spirit of the LORD, and with justice and might, to declare to Jacob his transgression, to Israel his sin.
Focus on the part of the scripture that refers to power. Far too often we forget that the Lord has indeed filled us with His power, a power we must tap into in order to face the challenges of entrepreneurialism.
If we believe in God then we must also believe the words of Apostle Paul in Ephesians 1 when he prayed we would know that God's power is available to us. He further described that power as "...the mighty strength 20 he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms" (Ephesians 1:19-20). God's power is at our disposal if we turn to Him and thereby rely on Him in the running of our businesses. This won't seem natural initially, after all the world has books and glossy power points telling us how to do everything.
But if the ways of the world - with all its business consultants and gurus - was all we needed, almost everyone who applied the techniques they advertise would be billionaires.
That is however not the case.
Those of us who believe in the Lord have the opportunity to be like Abraham who walked with God in faith and knew prosperity in everything he did (Genesis 13:2). A prosperity that, frankly, outlived him. Or Isaac who didn't follow the conventional understanding in his time but instead listened to God and remained in the land of Canaan during a period of great famine (Genesis 26). His reward was that he reaped a hundredfold for his efforts and became a source of food, employment, and innovation during troubled times.
The power available to believers comes through the Holy Spirit. He is called the Counselor, after all. It is He who will give the instructions that ensure a walk in alignment with God's purposes for life, family and, of course, business.
If you are yet to experience the impact of the Holy Spirit in your life, please be aware that Jesus promised Holy Spirit to all who believe in Him. Have you declared Jesus as your Lord and Savior? The Holy Spirit is a gift that comes with receiving Christ and committing to Him. If you are yet to do so and would like to take that step, there is no better time than now. Let's pray together,
Lord Jesus I am a sinner. I confess my sins and repent right now to you. I believe that you are the son of God who died, rose again, and paid the price for my sins. Today, I accept the new life You offer and I receive the Holy Spirit. From this day, old things are passed away and I am born again. In Jesus's name, Amen.
I pray you seek and receive the power God has available for you, IJMN Amen. From this day onward, ask the Holy Spirit to give you the steps you need to tackle challenges. There's no problem too big or small. Let the voice of God show you how to take the power God has afforded you to do great things in your business.
