God's Cup of Wrath is the Lord's justified retribution meted out to the wicked. It is His justice coming upon those who treat others unfairly without fear of the Almighty. It is the vengeance that comes upon the evil ones for all their works - works that they thought God did not see and/or would ignore. This cup is not for the righteous who walk in the fear of the Lord. Sure, God's children do experience some serious heat in their lives but the Lord reserves His wrath for the wicked. Those who serve others gods, oppress others and cause bloodshed. When God's children experience affliction, it is either His attempt to correct their course, or teach them valuable lessons they will need for their next season.

That said, one righteous person did experience the Cup of God's Wrath but for a selfless and righteous reason - Jesus Christ. He nevertheless pleaded in Luke 22:42 - saying, “Father, if You are willing, remove this cup [of divine wrath] from Me; yet not My will, but [always] Yours be done" (AMP). God still allowed His Son to drink so as to become a sacrifice for the sins of the world. A way for humanity to receive God's forgiveness despite how they had turned from Him.
Though a terrible experience, what a merciful blessing that Jesus drank from that cup and died on the cross for others. In the process, He endured disrespect, humiliation, pain, thirst, and more. All so that sinners would never have to drink from the Cup of Wrath. And we would have drank because as sinners, all humans needed salvation to be justified and reconciled with the Lord. We are told in Romans 3:23-24 - for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
Once a person returns to God - having repented, committed to believe in Jesus, and make Him the authority over their life - that Cup of Wrath doesn't come near. Consider Isaiah 51:22 - This is what your Sovereign Lord says, your God, who defends His people: "See, I have taken out of your hand the cup that made you stagger, from that cup, the goblet of My wrath, you will never drink again." Apostle Paul also said in 1 Thessalonians 5:9 - For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.
But, wait! There's more!
Once someone goes from deserving wrath to salvation, several promises become available. One such promise is contained in Isaiah 54:23 - I will put it [the cup of wrath] into the hands of your tormentors, who said of you, "Fall prostrate that we may walk on you, and you made your back like the ground, like a street to be walked on.'" God will place His Cup of Wrath into the hands of the evil ones. Those who torment His beloveds will drink and become drunk till they stagger. These sorts include all who dare oppress His chosen ones. Those who decide to treat His children unfairly. Those who didn't realize that the blood and the name of Jesus sets every captive free. No longer shall those who believe in Him (believing in Jesus means believing in God and vice versa) suffer at the hands of tormentors.
Are you being tormented in any way? Is your mental health under attack? How are things at your job? Does it seem the devil is hard at work creating setbacks in your career? Could the torment be in your family life? Is your family fractured and in need of God's reconciliatory grace? Is there torment surrounding finances whereby there is never and has never been enough for your needs, talk less of good works? The enemy could also be tormenting your health, constantly attacking so you are in fear of disease or worse.
If you repent, state that you believe in Jesus and receive Him as your Lord and Savior, then you step outside of the enemy's reach. The tormentor has to cease because you become a new creation, transformed by the sacrifice and grace of Christ - the one righteous man who drank from the cup of wrath on your behalf. You get to enjoy this benefit and proclaim God's promise as a wordstone - your enemy has to drink from God's cup of wrath because you have been saved! If you have repented, proclaimed that you believe in Jesus and received Him as Lord and Savior, then wonderful! If not, what are you waiting for? The devil will tell you that the commitment you made to God is irrelevant, that your sins have washed it away. Remember, satan is a liar! Grace and mercy are available. Why do you think Jesus stands at the right hand of God interceding? Hold onto your faith, resist satan and it will flee as God builds you into who He wants you to be. Just let God transform you.
Once you have declared Jesus as the authority of your life, be sure to proclaim over yourself that He already drank from the cup of wrath so you will never need to. Decree that in accordance with the word in Isaiah 51:22 and elsewhere, God's cup of wrath sits in the hands of your enemy - the devil and all who serve it. They must all drink from it, IJN, Amen. Be sure to come back at Noon EST to worship the Lord, pray for other people, then pray in unison, with scripture, to declare and rejoice in our freedom from wrath as children of God!
CLOSING PRAYER
My Master. My King. My Father. The Only Excellency! Father, I thank You for bringing us to the end of today's fellowship. Thank You for Your mighty presence and Your concern for us. Thank You for removing the cup of wrath from our hands and putting it in that of the enemy. Thank You for hearing and answering our petitions. Thank You for stepping into the lives of those we covered with prayers. Thank You for we shall hear great news of what You have done. We shall rejoice in the testimony given and dance for You!!!!
*From HC*- Thank you Father for your love, protection and kindness towards me. Thank you for sending your angels to surround and encamp me and my family from all evil. Thank for letting us dwell in your safety, Most High. Thank you for your peace.
Almighty One, the Creator of all, the One and Only True Judge, The Most Beautiful and Fearsome --
My God I exalt You. Lord, I ask that Your arm would reach into the hidden places and draw out the captives. I bind up the strongman of that place, and I ask that rescuing angels would go forth and plunder the house (Mark 3:27). "Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, And the prey of the terrible be delivered; For I will contend with him who contends with you, And I will save your children." (Isaiah 49:25)
Amen Lord, in Jesus name.
LAST 10 MINUTES
Lord, in these last few minutes of fellowship, I want to thank You for being the God whose love translated to mercy for each of us. I want to thank You for being He who looked at our human plight and knew we needed someone else to drink from the cup of wrath. Thank You for in turn sending Jesus to bear that burden and free us from sin and death.
Awesome God, how great Thou art!
Father, Your love knows no bounds. Your mercies endure forever. Your blessings have no end.
Thank You, God. We bow in worship before You, great King. For this wonderful mercy, we are grateful.
And You took it upon Yourself to transfer that cup of wrath to the enemy of our soul and all who would do its bidding against us. Thank You for being He who has spoken in Isaiah 54:15 - If anyone does attack you, it will not be my doing; whoever attacks you will surrender to you. Thank You for being the only God who has said "Vengeance is mine" so we know we need not retaliate of our own might but watch You set a table before us in the presence of our enemies. We shall feast at Your table while the enemy drinks till it staggers, IJMN, Amen.
Praise be to You, Almighty Creator! The Lord of Lords. The One who never fails. Alpha & Omega. You deserve all the praise! Hallelujah!
Good God, I lift up Peppers to You and thank You for Your mercy and kindness toward them. Thank You for loving them and keeping them safe.
Heavenly Father, Your word instructs us that when people cry out to You for help, You will rescue, heal and save them.
Abba, Jehovah Ropheka, I call on You to hear this cry on behalf of Peppers who seek Your healing word. Lord, send forth Your word to rescue, heal and save (Psalm 107:20). Remember that You have called us to pray for all men in 1 Timothy 2:1 and I stand on that authority plus the very name of Jesus to speak over Peppers, saying, you are healed, IJN, Amen.
*From BI* - Lord, I pray that CE, CS, MM, JO, Sisters @AlexisColby, @kety, @MamaFatCheeks, @Blossoms2 and everyone connected to this thread in need of healing, receive divine visitation from You. I pray that You heal them in mind, body and spirit. May their medical reports become testimonies to Your mercy and kindness. Lord, be a light unto their path and allow only goodness and mercy to follow them. I thank You Lord for their lives and declare their healing permanent IJMN Amen.
God I praise You for the fullness of Your mercy towards Your people. Thank You for Your patient endurance towards our flaws. Thank You for looking ahead and forgiving us for our past transgressions. Your grace is truly unmerited. (ex 34:6)
"He will sustain you to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ." (1 Cor 1:8)
"Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you unblemished in His glorious presence, with great joy—" (Jude 24)
Abba, I intercede for Your children, especially those in this fellowship. May they walk in the fullness of Your mercy. Help them of course to do the needful -- to love/worship/serve You and love/honor/obey Your laws (Ex 23:25). But Abba, please continue to graciously see them through to the end. Amen in Jesus name!
Shine Your light into the deepest recesses. Let there be light as You have said. Father, See the conflict stirrers. I pray against every stronghold and strongman seeking to deter or delay my prayers for my prayer subjects.
The light and the name of God can not be challenged and I speak the word of God into the places they need to go. IJN, Amen.
PRAYER TIME
Lift up the prayer needs of others right now. Pray fervently for people and over situations. God has given us authority to agree in prayer and make things happen.
We need to honor the Lord's instruction in 1 Timothy 2:1 to pray for all people. Pray that people come to know the Lord. Pray that the oppressed be released from their shackles. Pray that sick become well to the glory of God. Pray for people you know as well as complete strangers and ask the Lord to meet them at their point of need.
Remember, Jesus said it is better to give than to receive in Acts 20:35. Let us give onto others our prayers on their behalf.
Let us pray.
Thank You for being good to me, my Lord!
Thank You Abba for the things You have done for me recently
Thank You for the yummy fruit, the unexpected gift card, and the timely payment!

*From IA84* - Good morning everyone. Blessings to you all. Before I step away, I just wanted to come back to the community and engage in some much needed prayer. I'd like to pray for someone very special to me, who recently got very sick and is also dealing with a potential foreclosure on their house. Most recently, they lost their father as well, so it has been a very tough time of things. I ask the Lord to shine his healing and loving light, not only upon my friend, but to everyone who truly need it, in times like these. I pray God will undo this sickness, pain, discomfort, hurt and broken-ness, and turn it into joy, peace, comfort, healing and blessings. Though I realize my flaws, faults and struggles, I also realize how blessed I am, in spite of. And I ask God to use me to be a blessing to this person I love so dearly, but also others who are truly in need. I trust God's way and timing in healing all the wounds we carry. He is amazing and fully of grace and mercy. I walk with him today, trusting that he will provide and supply, not just for me, but for those I love, and those who are mere strangers to me. The Lord's love, his healing, his comfort, his peace, his protection and his blessings are matched by none other. And I am grateful to know that I am his, and he is perfectly mine. I know he will make a way. I truly give thanks to God, for he is second to none. In Jesus' name, Amen!
Thank you so much for allowing me to be part of this safe space, and community!
*From CS* - Thank you God for another day! Thank you for peace and contentment. You know well how my spirit was as unsettled as the sea in a raging storm “before”. Thank you.
I pray that all who seek you, do find you.
PRAISE TIME
Glory!!!
We've got 25 minutes to raise our praise and worship up to the Lord God Almighty.
Tell Him how great He is. Express how much you love and appreciate Him. Thank Him for what He's done for you. Those unexpected blessings and answered prayers.
Let us glorify our Father together!
*From CS* - Hey FFJ. I just came across someone else who gave a good talk about the Lord accepting Father Gods cup of wrath for us - and they used those exact words, too. I just can't remember whether I read it or heard it on YouTube. Nevertheless, thanks for the lesson this week.
So true. When I came to God - I'm talking right after I became a Christian in Nov 2018...by Dec 2018 - I had severe trials. I was stricken with mental illness suddenly. Something that you develop in your twenties. Lost my job. Lost the roof over my head. I still wonder when I think back whether that was spiritual warfare.
But I trusted God. I prayed and sang songs like you would not believe. Lol It was a rough year and a half, but I grew greatly as a believer. And God has just thoroughly improved my life on all fronts since that time. I should be committed in a mental institution, a babbling fool because MANY people do not come back from severe psychosis, but I'm not. He healed my brain. I'm earning way more money than I was. And God gave me peace and contentment. And a joyful feeling. And hope where death is concerned. (I used to fear death as an atheist. I felt so hollow inside).
“Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, The Holy One of Israel: “I am the Lord your God, Who teaches you to profit, Who leads you by the way you should go.
Oh, that you had heeded My commandments! Then your peace would have been like a river, And your righteousness like the waves of the sea. Isaiah 48:17-18
I don't know whether we die and go to sleep until judgment day or if we immediately go to heaven (my studies haven't taking me that far), but I hope that I'm a good enough Christian to see and be with God at the end of it all.
I'm trying really hard to walk in His statutes and ways.
This reminds me- did you know that early Christians were called ‘People of the Way’? I just learned this from one of my books. Pretty cool.
I found this article that talks a bit about it. What Does “The Way” Mean in the New Testament?
I don't know how it appeared in the original Greek, but the KJV calls it ‘that way’. It's written in such a way that you'd never know that it was a term...which makes me think that the Greek text actually expresses it in that fashion.
From AC - Amen!! @FFJ Thank you for sharing this powerful message! Whew! We rejoice and give thanks to God who gives us victory and freedom from the cup of wrath through our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!
Thank You, King Jesus, for being our saviour, and for loving us so much that You drank from the cup of wrath to set us free from the enemy's clutches. Thank You that through Your sacrifice, sin, and death have been defeated and that Your power and righteousness are everlasting! All glory and victory belong to You, our Lord Redeemer! Hallelujah, Amen!
