Remember our previous discussions on Queen Jezebel? We looked at her and how she mirrored the power and influence of the occult in a way that translates to our modern times. Today, however, we examine the things she said in the Bible and how they are a reflection of how satan speaks. Jezebel's evil communications can be divided into the verbal and non-verbal. Regardless of the form it took, the basis was evil and used to serve her master, the devil. It is important for us to recognize such patterns of expression so we are more aware of how satan speaks around us.
The Bible only focuses on certain specific discussions and communications she made. Chief among her verbal statements was the message she sent to Prophet Elijah following his execution of 850 false prophets. Men for whom she was a benefactor, as they represented the gods she worshipped. 1 Kings 19:2 - So Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah to say, “May the gods deal with me, be it ever so severely, if by this time tomorrow I do not make your life like that of one of them.”
Here, she threatened to murder God's servant. This was no idle promise. It triggered Elijah, sending him running for his life. Similarly, satan uses threats to people's lives in order to induce the crippling spirit of fear. It could be a whisper in a person's ear that their ailment will cause death. Or, someone else could utter such a prediction. Certainly, there are life-threatening illnesses in the world. However, when satan speaks such words, they are a lie that must not be believed (John 8:44). These untruths cause individuals to forget that the Lord heals. They cause people (and their loved ones) to believe that all hope is lost, and loss of life is imminent. This despite the fact that God has given us scripture to silence the devil in Psalm 118:17 - I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the LORD has done.
Another common way satan speaks is to make hypocritical statements. Jezebel did just that when confronted by a soldier named Jehu. He'd been anointed by God to take down the royal family. The Bible records that when challenged by Jehu, Jezebel took a dig at the soldier that included an insult. The insult made little sense given her history. She called him a murderer. This from a woman who conspired with others to plot and execute the murder of a man who'd refused to sell her husband his vineyard. Alas, such hypocrisy is common in our society. So much so that many of us don't understand that hypocrites do the work of satan. Hypocrisy is founded on deception and lies, both things God detests. Jesus Himself had no kind words for the hypocrites of His day and in 1 Peter 2:1 we are told, "Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind."
Regarding her non-verbal communication, Jezebel wrote a letter to entrap Naboth, the man who refused to sell his vineyard to her husband. It reflected her knowledge of God's word and His law, combining them for a solitary purpose - to kill a man for land. (Again, another hallmark of the devil.) Pretending to be the king, she wrote to the elders in Naboth's city, instructing them to set him up for a crime. She ensured that "scoundrels" would flank him and claim he violated Exodus 22:28 by cursing God and the king - an offense punishable by death if two or more witnesses confirmed the violation (Deuteronomy 17:6). To that end Jezebel was no different from the scoundrels she connived with according to Isaiah 32:7 - Scoundrels use wicked methods, they make up evil schemes to destroy the poor with lies, even when the plea of the needy is just.
Another example of her non-verbal communication was her use of makeup. 2 Kings 9:30 - Then Jehu went to Jezreel. When Jezebel heard about it, she put on eye makeup, arranged her hair and looked out of a window. While there is nothing wrong with a person beautifying themselves, Jezebel's reason was categorically evil. She hoped to seduce Jehu to keep him from fulfilling his God-given directive. The devil frequently uses beauty to distract people from their mandates because human brains often see beauty as good. Nevertheless, her scheme failed as she was thrown out a window by her own staff.
Nothing Jezebel did is abnormal nowadays. Countless men and women apply her tactics to steal, kill and destroy, thereby doing satan's work (John 10:10). We all need the guidance of the Holy Spirit to help us navigate these types in addition to the many ways satan and its operatives speak. We need Holy Spirit to help us tune in to God's frequency and tune out satan's deceptive speech. Let us also use this opportunity to examine ourselves. Do our lives coincide in any way with Jezebel's behavior? If so, let us allow the good Lord to excise those parts so we do not do satan's work and can resist the devil when it comes with its evil communication. The Lord will help us, IJMN, Amen.

God Almighty. Thank You for bringing us to the end of this series. Thank You for taking the time to reveal to us some of the ways satan uses communication to achieve its evil goals. Help each of us, Lord, to be cognizant and thus make better choices. We rely upon Your grace and guidance that we may resist the devil and cause it to flee as Your word states in James 4:7.
May the tenor and cadence of Your voice become increasingly clear to us. May the presence of Your Holy Spirit become like that of a best friend, with us everywhere. May we receive Your Spirit of wisdom and revelation to live all the more for You and experience more of You.

LAST 10 MINUTES
Over the last three weeks, we've reviewed the various ways satan speaks. We've analyzed his direct communications as well as those spoken by others on his behalf. The aim was to help us learn how to distinguish the voice of the serpent from that of our God.
I've said it before, so the following will not come as a surprise. The best way to become familiar with God's voice is to read all about it in the Bible. However you do it, just do it. Listen to the audio Bible, join a Bible study group, read a chapter a day, watch Bible Project videos on the different books of the Bible and the incredible characters.
You don't have to read a particular translation. King James is filled with ancient English that takes some back to the days they were forced to study Shakespeare (and instead relied on Cliff Notes). Pick a different translation - Amplified, the Message, New American Standard Version. Go buy a children's Bible with lots of pictures if you need to. There should be no shame in your game when it comes to connecting with the word of God.
The Bible is your life manual. You can't do life - successfully - without it. I suspect not knowing God's word could also impact access to eternal life because Jesus noted that those who didn't know God's word were in error in Mark 12:24.
The Lord will help us. Please give your life to Christ so you can receive the Holy Spirit and the mark of having the Spirit of God - speaking in other tongues. There's so much doctrine but if you read the Bible, Jesus said only those who believe in Him can receive the Holy Spirit. We must each believe, repent for our sins and receive the Gospel - the good news. Not as a nice suggestion but as the instructions we need for each day.
When we start down that path, God will help us get all the way. We'll make mistakes but its His job to see us through. He'll help us hear Him better and make satan's voice less audible.
The Lord bless you as you seek to hear the voice of our Shepherd to not succumb to the serpent's deceitful whispers and by the grace of God you shall be victorious, IJN, Amen.
Lord, the Father of the Fatherless. The mighty One who protects His sheep.
Isaiah 40:11 He will feed his flock like a shepherd, he will gather the lambs in his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and will gently lead those that have their young.
Lord I lift up the cases of the children at KA. See their individual flaws, and the concerns of their hearts. See where the devil places tension and disunity in their relationships.
Let there be peace in their lives. Rescue them from every satanic connection. Your hand is mightier than any evil hand from their ancestors. The blood of Jesus speaks a better word than the blood of Abel. Though their parents may have bitten on sour grapes, the children's teeth will not be set on edge.
Psalm 23:4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
Rescue those children God, and mark them as Yours forever. I know You will protect them, and preserve them even till the end. Thank You Father, in Jesus name. Amen.

Lord, I know that satan came to steal, kill and destroy and will not be content until it destroys the health and lives of people everywhere. However, You are Jehovah Rapha. Jehovah Ropheka. The provider of all healing. He who binds all wounds and is the Balm of Gilead.
Lord, I lift up the sick before You and call on You to be their Jehovah Rohi. Remember, good God, that by the stripes of Jesus is healing available for Your people. Lord, Your daughter is struggling in this season. I know that You will not leave her. I call on You to wrap her up in Your arms. Let her know that You have seen all she has been through. That Your plans for her are very good. That You will usher her into a period of rest round about, just as You gave to David after years of uncertain times.
I trust You as well, my God, to avenge her. For the wickedness she experienced at the hands of humans, wickedness that hurt her. Lord, bring forth Your justice, for You are the Righteous Judge. Psalm 9:12 - For he who avenges blood remembers; he does not ignore the cries of the afflicted. Thank You, You are He who ascribes righteousness to those who have been treated unfairly (Psalm 103:6). See how the Adversary is attacking them and resisting them, despite the blessed life that You have promised them.
Worship the LORD your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you, (Exodus 23:25)
and none will miscarry or be barren in your land. I will give you a full life span. (Exodus 23:26)
“I will send my terror ahead of you and throw into confusion every nation you encounter. I will make all your enemies turn their backs and run. (Exodus 23:27)
Remember Your ministers for good and not evil. Let Your light shine to open their eyes to any way they might have invited the devil into their lives to cause trouble. Even if they used their own two hands to make a bad choice, in Your mercy Lord, please remember that "even if [they] make [their] bed in hell, still You are there" (Psalm 139:8). Please redeem Your ministers. Thank You Lord for hearing and answering my prayer in accordance with Your will. In Jesus mighty name I pray, amen.
