Abounding in Love - Friday Praise & Pray (for others) October 15, 2021
Our God is abounding in love for us. How do I know this? Well, it says so in several places in the Bible.
Exodus 34:6 - And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, “The LORD, the LORD, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness,
Numbers 14:18 - The LORD is slow to anger, abounding in love and forgiving sin and rebellion. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation.’
So, what exactly does it mean to be abounding in love? The dictionary says this word means plentiful. However, because we're dealing with God, I understand this word to be never-ending. Remember He's the God who does "exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us" according to Ephesians 3:20.
There is no limit to how much God loves each and everyone of us. So much so, He let His own Son die as an eternal sacrifice for everyone - whether they loved Him or not. What kindness! What loving mercy!
Sometimes, we forget how much we are loved by God but today, let us meditate on His word and remember that we are His beloved. He made us to be loved by Him and to love Him back. Glory to God for the love He pours out over us. May He be greatly exalted always!
Psalm 86:5 - You, Lord, are forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call to you.
Psalm 86:15 - But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.
Joel 2:13 - Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the LORD your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity.
Thank You God for Your abounding love. Amen.
I hope you'll join us for Praise & Pray (for others) fellowship at 12 Noon EST today. We shall praise our God for loving us and intercede for those who are in need of prayers. Come ready to share your praise and be prepared to lift people and their tough situations up in prayer. God bless you!
