Wait on God - Tuesday Praise & Pray (for others) May 18, 2021

How many of us are waiting on God? Did you ask Him for something that's taken a while to show up in your life or in the lives of those you prayed for?

In the Bible, a lot of people had to wait on God to fulfill His promise to them - the Jews had to wait 430 years to leave Egypt for the land God promised to them, Caleb and Joshua had to wait an extra 40 years to enter the Promised Land because a group of naysayers angered God and created delay for the entire nation, and David went over a decade waiting to become the next king of the Israelites.

Thank God we haven't had to wait as long for our prayer requests and by the grace of God we won't have to IJMN, Amen.

Yet, God sometimes makes us wait for the things we need and want. He puts us through a waiting period during which we either rise in faith or stall in disbelief. The Lord wants us to be strong and our trust in Him empowers us while we wait. Satan, on the other hand, wants us to live in fear that our prayer will not be answered.

However, God has spoken - Isaiah 66:9 - Do I bring to the moment of birth and not give delivery?" says the LORD. "Do I close up the womb when I bring to delivery?" says your God. Meaning, He hasn't brought you this far for you to fail. As long as you continue to rely on Him, He will bring you through!

When next we feel fearful or impatient, let us remember God is still waiting on us as individuals and a collective to give ourselves to Him completely. To have Him as our only God - without the distractions that send us astray. He's been waiting for a very long time and yet He remains patient.

We need to be patient too. Hebrews 6:12 - We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.

We also need to persevere. Hebrews 10:36 - You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.

We must continue to trust God - no matter how bad things seem - knowing that He has promised to care for us in Jeremiah 29:11 - For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Let us put our faith, patience and perseverance to work as we wait on the Lord. To the glory of God and by His grace, IJMN, Amen.

See you today at noon EST!
