Noise, chaos and confusion are some of the tactics used by the enemy to distract us and throw us off balance. Satan uses these tricks to keep us from the peace and rest that are ours as children of God bought with a blood price.
In fact, the disorder it creates bleeds out of our personal lives into the communities we live in and negatively impacts every aspect of our lives.
The process is minute. We don't see or hear the noise growing but very soon, we get used to that constant roar. It is all around us. And when that's all we hear, we can't tune in to God's voice. We can't recognize God's hand in the little things such as the sunshine that warms us, the birds chirping, or the wild and free laughter of children. Instead, we swim in a darkness that keeps us from the Lord. The darkness makes us prone to short tempers and anger or a general disillusionment/lack of interest with everything.
And that darkness causes us Christians - yes, I'm talking to those of us who profess Jesus as our Lord and Savior - to have a spiritual discordance within ourselves that is reflected in the corporate body. Most of us can agree there is a lack of spiritual unity in the body of Christ that causes us to judge instead of love one another. It causes us to forget to treat each other well. We forget to rejoice and mourn together. We camp into 'tribes' pitting ourselves against others instead of serving one another.
Yet, Jesus said the following prayer in John 14:20-21 -
My prayer is not for them alone I pray also for those who will believe in Me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in Me and I am in You. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that You have sent Me.
Let us all seek to be one with each other and be one with the Father, the Son and (if I may) even the Holy Spirit who was sent for our benefit. This way, the world will see us and see the Kingdom of God instead of the growing hypocrisy which turns vulnerable souls away from the Lord.
Join us in Praise & Pray for others where we honor the Lord with worship, act as intercessors for others in need, then spend ten minutes with the Holy Spirit. I pray that you will be blessed today as you give God more of your love and attention. I pray that it shall prove a step toward growing in the unity, the peace and the rest our God intended for us.
