Frustration & Impatience - Tuesday Praise & Pray (for others) April 27, 2021

Our journey with the Lord is a long one. That's never an easy idea to swallow especially in our current times where our attention span has shortened tremendously. God's attention span, however, never changed. His purpose was for us to walk slowly yet securely with Him for an eternity. Remember Psalm 139:13 - For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. The Lord knew us from before He placed us in our mother's womb and His plan for us to serve Him here on earth then join Him for eternity (Jeremiah 1:5 and Titus 1:2).

Since we lack God's patience, our long walk can cause frustration and impatience. However, waiting on God is for our own good. It's a way for Him to give us the time to grasp the large and small concepts He's teaching us so we apply them in a manner that's pleasing to Him. Isaiah 48:10 - See, I have refined you, though not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction.

It is also easy to become frustrated and impatient when waiting on God to fulfill a promise or answer a prayer. Even the scripture notes in Proverbs 13:12 - Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life. Yes, the Lord knows our struggles aren't easy. But, we must never forget Isaiah 66:9 - Do I bring to the moment of birth and not give delivery?" says the LORD. "Do I close up the womb when I bring to delivery?" says your God.

God will never start you on a journey and not get you to the finish line. Even if the journey seems tough, His word is that we will get through every hurdle and come out unscathed. You will never look like what you've been through when you walk with Him.

May the Lord give us strength whereby we won't allow frustration or impatience to cause us to squander what we've learned and earned in our journey with Him. This way when we show up, He'll say, 'Well done, good and faithful servant!...' (Matthew 25:21).

See you at Noon EST where we'll take that first step in rejecting frustration and impatience. Instead, we'll glorify our Maker and honor Him with praise. So come with a list of the things you're grateful for so we can join you in exalting the King of kings!
