Ephesians 3:20 - Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us...
Many of us are familiar with this scripture and know it as a basis for believing that God will do great things for us. How many of us pay attention to the tail end of the sentence? according to the power that works in us...
The promise of the first part of the sentence is dependent on the second part. It is therefore the power at work in us that impacts the fullness of life we experience with the Lord. This means we must not limit what God can do for us by only expecting a little from Him. Think of Caleb. He believed that his people could go up against every enemy in Canaan and win because he knew God would make it happen (Numbers 14:8-9). The Bible says he had a "different spirit" (Numbers 14:24). That different Spirit was because of the power of the Lord at work in him.
The power within us is a gift from the Lord. It is a mighty weapon for the pulling down of strongholds but it requires a true relationship with the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 1:13-14 - And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession--to the praise of his glory.
Can you claim to have a good relationship with the Holy Spirit? The better your relationship is with Him, the more powerful you are.
Today is a great day to believe the message of truth and be sealed with the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 3:16-18 - I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord's holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ...
May the Lord fill us with His Holy Spirit - the power we need. This power is available for all who ask and believe that they receive, IJN, Amen.
