How many of us say the Lord's Prayer regularly? It is a powerful prayer filled with praise of the Lord and supplication. Jesus gave it to His disciples in Matthew 6 when they'd asked Him to teach them how to pray.
There's a line in there - "Thy will be done..." (Matthew 6:10 KJV).
How often do we really mean that when we say it? How often are we willing to submit our needs and desires to the will of God? Can we honestly sit still and let Him have His way in our lives?
This is a lesson I continue to learn in my personal life. When I let God do what He wants, I believe He ends up being magnified and I am blessed beyond expectation. This often requires me to sit still and take no action until He leads. Sitting still and waiting doesn't come easily for me, but I'm learning (the hard way, mind you) that it isn't until I get out of His way that things start to happen.
I shouldn't be surprised. After all, Mark 12:11 tells us - the Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes'.
Today, let us focus on letting God have His way so we too can marvel at what He has done for us. He knows what we need. He knows our hearts. He is the God who longs to bless us abundantly - that was a promise He made to Abraham. It was a promise that spans generations and because we have been grafted onto the vine through the death and resurrection of Jesus, we are inheritors of that mighty promise.
The path to where He's taking us might not be easy, but we've got to remember the final destination will be so worth it.
I'm looking forward to seeing you at noon today for Praise & Pray (for others). I hope you will come armed with reminders of the promises God has kept in your life and the blessings that are to come. Please consider prayer points that will cover others and if you have a prayer need, be ready to drop it in the thread so the rest of us can war on your behalf. Then be ready to spend the last 10 minutes of the session however the Holy Spirit leads you.
God bless you and see you soon!
