Penitence - Tuesday Praise & Pray (for others) August 18, 2020
Tuesday's here and it's another opportunity to express gratitude to the Lord via today's Praise & Pray (for others).
So, how are you doing? How have things been for you since our last Praise & Pray session? Have there been small victories? Large ones? Are you making progress, no matter how little, in overcoming the challenges that plague you? Have you found time to give God a bit more of your time? Through praise, prayer, fasting, meditation on His word (Bible or via sermons, other writings) or have you been helping the needy around you?
No matter what, we all have a reason (or more) to give the Lord glory. Exalting Him needs to become a way of life. It helps us get on and stay on the path of righteousness. And the rewards of the righteous are so many! Long life (Proverbs 16:31), good things (Proverbs 13:21), rescue from the wicked enemy (Psalm 18) to name a few.
As we prepare for Praise & Pray in the next few minutes, let's add another 'P' into the mix. Let me mention Penitance. Keep it in mind for the last 10 minutes of today's session. We will repent for our sins and seek the cleansing blood of the Lamb so that we maintain and strengthen our righteous walk with God.
If you're wondering if you are capable of righteousness, please know, Jesus died on the cross to make you whole. That means, when you repent for your sins, commit/re-commit yourself to God and actively turn from your past, you will be on your way to righteousness. There's more to righteousness of course, and by His grace, we'll share some key verses from the Bible to guide us.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing you at 12 noon EST for Praise & Pray. Come fellowship and be blessed.
