Praise Brings Blessings - Tuesday Praise & Pray (for others) May 12, 2020

Praise opens us up to blessings. It also surrounds us with the miraculous.

I have found that when I take my thoughts off my problems and honor the instruction in Psalm 146:2 - I will praise the LORD all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live, the issue disappears. He takes the imperfect and makes it perfection.

Even when I make mistakes, I've found that praising the Lord brings Him into the matter. He takes my mess and makes it a message of blessing. A miracle.

How can I not give Him praise?

Upon reading 1st Chronicles 25 recently, I noticed something I found odd. King David was organizing the Levites (tribe assigned to be the priests of God). King David placed the prophets amidst the Musicians. Upon prayer and reflection, I learned something I hadn't realized - praise is closely tied to prophecy, which is one of several spiritual gifts.

Take a look - in 1 Corinthians 12: 8-10, we are taught about the gifts of the Holy Spirit. It took Jesus dying for us to get them and they are - wisdom, knowledge, faith, the gift of healing, miraculous powers, prophecy, discernment of spirits, speaking in tongues, and interpreting of tongues.

Through the guidance of God, King David - a man loved by the Lord - unlocked understanding of the connection between praising the Alpha and Omega, and accessing His gifts as handed out by the Holy Spirit.

Have you figured out which of the spiritual gifts you have? How about you take advantage of today's Praise and Pray (for others) as an opportunity to get closer to knowing which one(s) of the gifts you have?

God bless you and set you on your path to knowing the gifts He's planted in you. And if you know them already, today is a day to water them and help them grow even stronger for the service of the Lord.

See you soon!
