What are you thankful for? - Tuesday Praise & Pray (for others) June 23, 2020

Updated: Jan 12, 2022

Welcome to this week's Praise and Pray session. What are you thankful for? I am thankful for the opportunity to glorify His name. He has been very good to me and mine and I praise Him for His mercy. The fact I can connect with LSA is a blessing as the enemy has thrown everything it could to prevent it. My Lord is excellent and mighty to save. His word will never return void!

UPDATE:

Testimony time:

So this morning, I woke up and started to get ready for Praise & Pray. Typically, I pray, read my Bible, fuss over my family then set up so the session goes smoothly.

Today, however, the enemy was up to tricks. At 10:30am, the power went out, taking my WIFI. My phone is having an issue right now, so Mobile WIFI was out of the question.

No problem. I get kids ready to drive to the nearby supermarket. It's got a Starbucks and I know they'll have power and free WIFI.

Get to the car and...the battery's dead.

Again, no problem. I grab a sunhat and we walk a mile to the store. We get there AND... the WIFI's acting silly. Won't let my laptop connect. That's an issue because I don't access LSA on my phone (y'all know Condie's site can be uh, funny lol!).

While I'd started Praise & Pray on another platform and we were flowing over there, LSA was proving a serious problem as I couldn't remember my password to access with my phone. I finally reset my password and then the site goes wonky.

Anyway, there we are at the supermarket, standing next to the Starbucks stall, giving praise then praying. Folks walking by minding their business haha.

We get done and I start to feel faint. I worry briefly if I'll be able to walk home. What do I do? I pray with the kids and as we go pick up a bag of apples (with the hope I'll munch on one on the way home), I decide nah. I feel better. I was fasting and there's just no way my God would ignore that sacrifice and allow me to succumb in anyway to the whims of the devil.

We walk home to find a large package at the door. Its not mine but has the owner's number. Call her and it turns out her English isn't great. Just as I start to get impatient (I had to interrupt a prayer to deal with the issue), I remember to be patient and we figure out she's not far and she comes to get her package.

Why am I sharing all this?

I haven't gone to check my car but I know all is well. I also know that the Lord made it possible for me to complete my assignment today. Praise & Pray happened. He made a way despite the obstacles. All I needed to do was trust in Him and know that He wouldn't let me down.

I share this testimony to remind us all that our God never fails. Whatever He says He will do, is what will surely happen.

The enemy will place obstacles in our path. They'll seem like giants and you'll be tempted to make the mistake of shrinking at the challenge. Just know, when a whole bunch of things go wrong, it's because the devil is desperate to make you forget God's promise. If you do that, you'll doubt and you won't step into your ordained strength and authority. You'll miss the graduation moment - leveling up to the next spiritual class.

Be like Caleb who saw the giants in Canaan and told the people of Israel - We've got this. Let's go get 'em. (I'm paraphrasing, of course).

Be like David who saw Goliath, called him an uncircumcised Philistine (which must have been as bad as using a curse word in those days) and ran toward him to take him out!

This month, remember that nothing can stop you because God's got you. You're not operating on your own power or intelligence. Operate on His! Submit yourself and your desires to Him. If we let Him lead, we'll never have a misstep.

Thank You Jehovah Jireh. Jehovah Rophi! You refine us, turning us into instruments to glorify Your name, to serve Your Kingdom and we are the ones who benefit at the end of the day. Thank You, Father.
