What Does Praise Mean? -Tuesday Praise & Pray (for others) July 20, 2021

What does praise mean to you? To me, it means acknowledgment for a job well done. It refers to someone detailing what another person has done right and it can be an expression of gratitude.

Imagine if you had a deadline at work and your office bestie stayed late to help you finish your presentation. She made sure every 'i' was dotted and every 't' was crossed. Would you mention to others how she'd helped you? And when the presentation proved a success, would you take your office bestie out for lunch and a drink? Or, show her some other form of appreciation?

We need to do the same with God. We need to acknowledge Him for what He's done for us as well as show Him appreciation for being exactly what and who we need at all times.

After all, even when we don't pay Him any attention, we are always on His mind. When we push Him to the side to focus on something or someone else, He patiently waits for us to turn back to Him.

God is amazing. Have you praised Him for being amazing recently? Have you taken a moment to acknowledge Him for what He's done for you or someone else? Have you looked up at your ceiling or the sky outside and said, "Thank You!"

Psalm 103:2 - Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits...

He keeps us healthy, forgives us our sins, blesses us, shows us unimaginable favor, and keeps us safe, among many other things.

Each of us might think we praise Him enough but we don't. That's unless we are keeping pace with the 24 elders and the 4 living creatures who praise Him nonstop! (Revelation 4:8).

Nevertheless, we can take an extra minute to praise Him a little more today. Do you think you can give Him some extra praise today? Do you think you can worship Him a little harder with a dance? Do you think you can thank Him for more than you usually would? Even if it's for just one more thing?

Write down a few reasons why you are grateful to the Lord. Then tell Him 'Thank You'. Maybe find and share a verse or two focusing on praise or worship in the Bible.

As for me, I am grateful for His grace upon me. And here's my accompanying scripture - Psalm 56:12-13 - I will fulfill my vows to you, O God, and will offer a sacrifice of thanks for your help. For you have rescued me from death; you have kept my feet from slipping. So now I can walk in your presence, O God, in your life-giving light.

See you at Noon EST when we'll give God praise and pray for others as we fellowship together in Praise & Pray (for others). Glory be to God in the highest!
